Another Bomb Threat Email at Ahmedabad Airport Turns Out to Be a Hoax

In a repeat of recent incidents, Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport received yet another bomb threat email on Monday — the second such hoax within just nine days.

According to officials, the threat was sent to the airport's official email ID and claimed that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) had been hidden in the bathroom pipeline. Upon receiving the email, airport authorities immediately alerted the police and bomb disposal squads, who launched a comprehensive search operation. However, no explosives were found.

This latest threat follows a similar email received on June 29, which claimed a powerful IED had been placed inside a backpack at the airport. That threat also turned out to be a hoax, though it triggered a full-scale security check and temporary disruption of airport operations.

In a separate incident on Monday, a bomb threat email was sent to District Judge Vikram Singh Gohil at the Veraval District Court. The message claimed a bomb had been planted within the court premises.

Security agencies responded swiftly. The entire court building was evacuated, and a bomb squad, accompanied by a dog unit, conducted a detailed search. As with the airport threats, no explosive devices or suspicious materials were found.

The court remained closed for the rest of the day, causing disruption to judicial proceedings and raising concerns over the growing frequency of such hoax threats.

Authorities are treating these incidents seriously and have launched investigations to trace the origin of the emails. Officials confirmed that cybercrime experts have been roped in to identify the senders and assess any possible links between the threats.
