Ankleshwar: Farmers halt Essar company's High-Tension line work near Piludra, demand compensation

Tensions flared in the outskirts of Piludra village as a group of farmers from Piludra, Ravidra, and Karmali villages halted the construction work of a high-tension tower by Essar Company, demanding fair compensation for the use of their land.

According to reports, around 8 affected farmers opposed the ongoing tower installation work, which was being carried out with police presence but without any prior notice or consent from the landowners.

The issue stems from a 12-year-old installation of eight high-tension towers in the region, for which compensation has reportedly remained unresolved.

The fresh construction activity involved raising the tower line along the expressway near Piludra.

However, local farmers, including those who had originally granted land for the project, objected to the move and demanded that compensation be determined and disbursed before any further work is carried out.

The farmers also submitted a formal representation to the Ankleshwar Prant Officer and Mamlatdar, urging the authorities to intervene and ensure justice is served.

The matter is currently under consideration, with officials expected to review the claims and mediate between the stakeholders.
