AMC to hold ‘Clean Navratri Festival Competition’ in Ahmedabad

In a bid to make Ahmedabad a cleaner city, the ‘Clean Navratri Festival Competition 2025’ has been announced by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

During the festival, the use of single-use plastic will have to be avoided. The corporation will hold the competition in two categories: Residential areas and community garbas, and in each category, three winners will be given cash prizes.

In the residential category, societies, flats, etc, will be included, while in the community garba category, party plots, community halls, or open plots where garba is organised will be considered. 

To participate in the competition, online registration must be done and the form must be submitted through the public health supervisor of the respective ward. Each participant will also have to appoint a nodal person to coordinate with the corporation.

Besides residential societies, flats, high-rise towers, pols (traditional neighborhood clusters), streets, and village-level societies can also participate. Garbas, organised with a Zero Waste theme, will be given special preference in evaluation. 

Winners at the zonal and city levels will be decided by a committee chaired by the deputy commissioner.
