Ahmedabad is set to see major traffic relief as eight new flyovers are scheduled to become operational within the next year.

The Sattadhar Crossroads flyover is expected to be completed by February, while strengthening work on the historic Ellis Bridge is set to conclude on March 26.

Work on the Vadaj Junction flyover is likely to finish in April, and the Naroda Patiya flyover is planned to open by December 26.

According to officials, Ahmedabad will get 12 new bridges including railway overbridges by 2028.

The list includes the widening of Chimanbhai Patel Bridge and a new flyover at Panchvati Junction. The city currently has over 82 bridges, including river bridges, ROBs, RUBs and other flyovers.

Construction on key bridges from Hebatpur to Science City Road, Sattadhar Crossroads, and Vadaj Junction is being fast-tracked, with the Amdavad Municipal Corporation aiming to complete them by March 2026. Across all planned projects between 2026 and 2028, the corporation will spend more than ₹1,400 crore.

A parallel bridge to Chimanbhai Patel Bridge is also planned, from the RTO Circle towards Sabarmati and Chandkheda, along with a one-down ramp towards Subhash Bridge.

Two additional bridges from Law Garden to Panchvati Junction, then Ambawadi Junction to C N Vidyalaya are also in the pipeline. These projects will cost ₹379.36 crore and are expected to be completed by March 24, 2028.
