Ahmedabad: Sex racket busted at Vastrapur spa, owner on the run
According to the FIR, the man was counselled by the police not to fall in the sex trap and not indulge in any sexual activities.
A team of anti-human trafficking unit of the city crime branch on Thursday evening busted a sex racket which was being run at a body massage and spa therapy centre in Vastrapur.
Cops got an input that a sex racket was being run in a spa named Happy International Spa and Hamam which is locatedd in the B wing of Amrapali Lakeview Tower near Vastrapur Lake.
Acting on the input, police convinced a 29-year-old man from Thakkarbapanagarto become a decoy and visit the spa.
According to the FIR, the man was counselled by the police not to fall in the sex trap and not indulge in any sexual activities.
The man was given Rs 500 to visit the spa and pose as a client. Around 4pm on Thursday, the man entered the room and the spa manager showed him photographs of different women.
After he was convinced that a sex racket was being run there, he waved at the three cops standing outside the spa and they immediately rushed inside and held the person who was showing photographs to the decoy.
A female constable entered inside the spa and found four small rooms in which she found four women. The women belonged to Ambawadi, Bopal, Isanpur and Vastrapur areas of the city.
The spa manager, Dilip Thakor, 28, told the cops that he was working there on a monthly salary of Rs 20,000 and they used to charge Rs 250 per customer. The spa owner was identified as, Happy Sav, from Mumbai who is on the run. Vastrapur police have charged Thakor and Sav under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
