In a crackdown on illicit liquor trade, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) Zone-2 of Ahmedabad City unearthed a buried stash of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and beer cans in Chandkheda’s Savitanagar area.
The raid led to the seizure of 229 liquor bottles and beer cans worth ₹40,100.
As per the police, the officials dug up pits around the accused’s residential premises in Savitanagar (Chharanagar) and found earthen pots containing bottles of liquor and beer tins.
Police seized 130 bottles of IMFL valued at ₹26,285 and 99 beer tins worth ₹13,815.
Three accused Ramilaben Kantilal Jadeja, Bharat Laxmanbhai Rathod, and Rashmiben alias Niki Laxmanbhai Rathod all residents of Savitanagar, Motera, have been booked under various sections of the Gujarat Prohibition Act and are yet to be arrested.
Investigators said the accused have a history of prohibition-related offences, with multiple FIRs registered against them at Chandkheda police station between 2013 and 2025. Police said efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused.
