The respite from the sweltering summer is here to stay at least for another day. 

After a breezy Sunday evening with light drizzles in Ahmedabad, light rain and thunder showers will continue in the city on Monday as well, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) - Gujarat.

So, long drives will be a pleasant experience in the city sans the traffic.

According to IMD, a fresh western disturbance is expected to impact northwestern India and it is likely that rain may continue here.

A cyclonic circulation prevailed over central and south Pakistan and neighbouring areas extending upto western Rajasthan.

With this, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad settled at 35.2°C, remaining 6.1 degrees below normal.

The minimum temperature remained at 23.1°C, settling at 2.6 degrees below normal.

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Anand, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Mahisagar, Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha, Narmada and Tapi; in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Morbi, Surendranagar, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Devbhoomi-Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Kutch, states the IMD.

Thereafter, the maximum temperature is expected to rise by 3-4 degrees over the next four to five days, across the state.
