Get ready to swap your long trips to Kevadia with a thrilling safari experience right in the heart of Ahmedabad.

In a few years, you could find yourself face-to-face with majestic lions, stealthy tigers, elusive leopards, graceful giraffes, and a kaleidoscope of exotic birds, all within the city's boundaries.

Excitement is brewing as Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) unveils its ambitious blueprint to create an expansive jungle safari park and a rich biodiversity park, promising a wild adventure right here in aapnu Amdavad.

The ambitious project is set to unfold across 500 acres of land in Gyaspur along the Sabarmati as an extension of the Kamla Nehru Zoological Park in Kankaria.

With an estimated budget of Rs 200 to 250 crore, the undertaking seeks to offer residents a blend of entertainment, education, and environmental consciousness.

To bring this vision to life, the AMC has floated a tender, inviting proposals from experienced consultants who will prepare a detailed project report (DPR).

Their duties will include everything from site mapping and case studies to developing the park's infrastructure, habitats for animals, and visitor amenities.

The project also emphasizes sustainable practices, including HVAC systems, water supply, sanitation arrangements, and green building management. The deadline for proposal submissions is September 26.

The ambitious initiative not only aims to offer a unique recreational space for Amdavadis but also contribute to biodiversity conservation efforts and environmental education.

One of the key highlights of this project is the focus on biodiversity.

The parks will showcase a diverse range of tree species and create natural habitats for various animal species.

This approach aims to allow visitors of all ages to engage with and learn about wildlife and ecology.

Municipal commissioner M Thennarasan outlined the division of the proposed 500-acre area into three distinct sections.

The outer periphery will feature a dedicated cycling and jogging track, offering space for fitness enthusiasts.

The middle layer will be transformed into a lush green buffer zone, serving as the biodiversity park, preserving and celebrating the region's native flora and fauna.

The inner core area, the focal point of the project, will host the safari, he said.
