Ahmedabad: Collector, police chief urged to curb sale of nylon kite thread

Members of the State Animal Welfare Association (SAWA) on Monday submitted an application to the city police commissioner to curb the sale of nylon kite thread, also known colloquially as Chinese manja, ahead of Uttarayan.

Praful Mehta, one of the members, said that in Nov alone, the state witnessed two deaths one each in Ahmedabad and Surat.
