A patrol party of the Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday seized three Pakistani boats from Harami Nala creek area of Kutch along the India-Pakistan maritime boundary on the Gujarat border, officials said.

On Thursday forenoon, patrol party of BSF Bhuj observed the movement of some Pakistani fishing boats in general area of Harami Nala.

Patrol party immediately rushed to the spot and seized three Pakistani fishing boats from Harami Nala," said a BSF officer.

On seeing BSF patrol approaching them, Pakistani fishermen left the boats and escaped, said the officer. The apprehension was made about 15-20km inside the Indian territory.

Three Pakistani boats have been seized and the BSF is looking for the fishermen, the officer said, adding that intense search is going on in the area.

BSF officers said that Indian fishermen are barred from entering the creek area, but Pakistani fishermen usually enter the Indian side to catch fish.

On various occasions, these fishermen have fled towards the Pakistani side after abandoning their boats on spotting BSF patrol, said the officer.
