Ahmedabad: 57 new cases, active cases below 500
The state administered booster doses to 6,065 senior citizens, taking the total to 54.58 lakh
The city on Wednesday recorded 57 new Covid cases. After discharge of 83 patients, there were 495 active cases these dropped below 500 after two-and-a-half months.
Gujarat recorded 196 Covid cases. Three active patients, one each from Bhavnagar city, Rajkot and Valsad districts, succumbed to the infection.
Out of 1,673 active cases in Gujarat, 12 were on ventilators.
Other cases included 28 from Surat city, 27 from Vadodara city, 16 from Vadodara, and 11 from Valsad among others. Two out of 33 districts had zero active cases.
In the past 24 hours, Gujarat vaccinated 366 persons for the first dose and 1,562 for the second.
In all, 5.43 crore people were administered the first and 5.39 crore the second dose of Covid vaccine.

The state also administered 60,568 booster doses to the 18-59 population, taking the total to 98.94 lakh.
