A major fire broke out at Surat's company, three labourers missing

On Thursday morning, a big fire broke out at a dyeing and printing facility in the Palsana GIDC area of Surat district. According to reports, firefighters have put out the flames and are currently working to cool the area down.

Authorities have shut down three mills in the vicinity as a precautionary measure. Three mill labourers are apparently missing, according to fire officials.

Early this morning, a fire broke out in the bottom floor of Soumya Dyeing and Printing Mill, according to fire department sources. The flames swiftly devoured the entire three-story factory due to the presence of chemicals and printed materials.

Surat, Bardoli, Palsana, Navsari, and Mandvi fire authorities have arrived on the scene, and around 17 fire tenders are working to put out the flames, according to sources.

Fire official Vijaykant Tiwari said, "We have come to know that there were over 300 labourers working in the factory and after the fire broke out, they came out of the factory. We talked to the labourers and found out three labourers are missing. The fire was brought under control after four hours and presently, cooling activities are in progress."

Palsana police have also arrived on the scene and are questioning the workers.

Palsana police inspector C M Gadhvi said, "At present, the cause of the fire is yet to be known but the fire officials suspect that it might be due to a short circuit in the ground floor of the unit. Three labourers working in the factory are missing and once the cooling activities are over, we will come to know about their whereabouts. We have started investigating the incident."
