9 detained by Rangpur police in connection with the viral video of beating a couple

Rangpur police under Chhotaudaipur arrested nine persons in connection with mercilessly beating a love couple after tied them with a tree. A video of the same goes viral in social media showed the cruelty of people.

The incident took place on Tuesday in Chiliyawant village comes under Rangpur police station of Chhotaudaipur. The couple ran away from their houses on 18th and later caught by the village people. On Tuesday morning they were tied up with a tree and beaten mercilessly.

"Both are 18 plus and ran away from their houses on 18th July. Later they were caught and brought to the village by the people and beaten up after tied with a tree. We have detained nine people in this matter and will be arrested after the covid test. The girl is complaint in the case, " Said N. M. Bhuriya PSI Rangpur police station.
