In the ‘dry state’ Gujarat, a viral video has surfaced showing men openly consuming liquor on a main road, just a few meters from the Satellite Police Station.
Based on the viral video, separate teams of Ahmedabad police arrested Piyush Makwana (a resident of Narol), Sanjay alias Sagar Parmar (a resident of Vejalpur), Mayank Makwana (a resident of Old Vadaj), Vicky Makwana (a resident of Gota), Hiren Solanki (a resident of Ghuma), Amitsinh Dabhi (a resident of Naranpura), and Mayur Makwana (a resident of Satellite).
The 45-second viral video on social media showed these men with liquor bottles near the Shivalik Complex on ISKCON Cross Road.
The arrests were made after senior officials of the Satellite Police Station started an investigation.
Following the incident, concerns have emerged regarding the current state of law and order. The incident occurred near the ISKCON Crossroads, meters away from the Satellite Police Station.
In response to the public outcry, senior police officials have taken the matter seriously, urging officers at the local police stations to implement stringent measures to ensure that criminal elements fear the authority of the law.
