For the last three days, four teams of National Disaster Management Force (NDRF) personnel stationed at Jarod near Vadodara have been working tirelessly to rescue people on the Kolhapur-Sangli road and in the flood-hit villages of Maharashtra.
From Monday morning till noon, the paramedics rescued 313 people, including 189 men, 106 women and 21 children from Shiroli village, including a paralyzed man from Rukdi village, an elderly woman and a dog, with the help boats.
Mr. Anupam, Deputy Commander of 6 Battalion NDRF, said that due to the flood waters near Shiroli, the traffic on the highway was halted and the water has started receding on Monday.
The Rural Development Minister of Maharashtra visited the site on Monday and inspected the rescue operation being carried out by skilled and trained personnel. He applauded their devotion and encouraged them.
