As the covid cases decrease the government give special permission for the Lord Jagannath Rathyatra with strict protocols. Vadodara City will also witness the Rathyatra but with strict government guidelines. There will be no prasad distribution all along the route and the temple management make arrangements of live darshan for the devotees as the area from where the procession move will be under curfew from since morning.
Every year the annual Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath is organised with great enthusiasm in Vadodara by ISKCON temple. Last year the Rathyatra was cancelled in view of the covid epidemic and to continue the tradition the procession moves inside the temple premises. This year as the Corona cases decrease the 40th annual Rathyatra will be taken out by the temple administration following strict protocols.
For the first time the procession will begin in the morning from 9am on the decided route starting from railway station and ends at Baroda High School Baggikhana. Curfew will be imposed on the route of Rath Yatra as Lord Jagannath along with brother Balbhadra and sister Subhadra will travel the city with limited people.
In Vadodara too the 40th annual Rathyatra will come out as per tradition but with a time change. The procession will move on the traditional route starting from railway station at 9am in the morning and will be finished till 11am. "The decision is taken jointly by the local administration and temple authorities for the Rathyatra. The procession will be moving on the traditional route after mayor sweep the road with golden broom. The procession will move without any stoppage and have to be completed in little more than two hours. The only change is the timing as the Rathyatra will begin in the morning with people from our side pulling the chariot. All the formalities of RTPCR and Vaccination of people joining us will be completed by Sunday, said Nityanand Ram Das, Vice President ISKCON Vadodara.
The whole route will be under curfew till the Rathyatra ends. People are requested to follow the rules and have live darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balbhadra and Maa Subhadra staying at home.
