Acting on specific information, a team of LCB kept a watch and stopped the tanker for checking.

A team of forensic experts were called to the spot and they confirmed that the milk was spurious.

The arrested duo Sajan Karamta and Jigar Gamara told police that the milk was to be supplied to a dairy owner in Dehgam near Gandhinagar.

The dairy owner used to make sweets from this milk and sell them to people.

Karamta, whose mainstay is animal husbandry in Vanthli town of Junagadh, had been making spurious milk using various chemicals and vegetable oil for the last four months.

Every three to four days, he used to take one tanker to Dehgam and sell it to the dairy owner there.

Forensic experts found the levels of glucose, phosphate, sulphate and oil much more than what is safe for human consumption.
