16 Injured in collision between ST Bus and private luxury bus on NH-48

A serious accident occurred on National Highway No. 48 near Ankleshwar, involving a state transport (ST) bus and a private luxury bus.

The incident took place on the Amlakhadi overbridge near Walia Chowkdi, causing the luxury bus to overturn and the ST bus to veer off the road.

The collision left 16 passengers injured, all of whom were promptly rescued and shifted to Jayaben Modi Hospital in Ankleshwar for treatment.

According to reports, the injuries sustained by the passengers are minor.

Eyewitnesses stated that the luxury bus overturned, trapping passengers inside.

Local residents rushed to the scene to assist, helping pull the injured out of the wreckage before emergency services arrived.

The police and 108 ambulance service also responded swiftly to manage the situation.

Both buses were reportedly en route from Surat to Ahmedabad when the accident occurred, causing a temporary traffic jam on the highway. Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Efforts to restore normal traffic flow were underway as police worked to clear the site.
