Gujarat goverment issued important notifications to ban screening of films due to COVID 19

Directs all licensing authority and District Magistrate to suspend exhibition of films with immediate effect in all cinema theaters till 29th March 2020

In view of the Coronvirus scare and control the epidemic, Gujarat goverment issued important notifications regarding public health. Exercise the powers Gujarat Government suspends the screening of films in the state till 29th March 2020.

As per the notification issued by Government of Gujarat Information and Broadcasting Department Gandhinagar, a notification is issued in the public interest to ban the screening of films to control the epidemic situation due to COVID – 19.

Exercise the powers conferred under the Gujarat Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 2004 (Guj.21 of 2004) and Rule 136 and 137 of Gujarat Cinema Rules, 2014 the Government of Gujarat directs all licensing authority and District Magistrate to suspend the exhibition of films with immediate effect in all cinema theaters under their jurisdiction till 29th March 2020 due to COVlD-19.

The notification mentioned the points like,
This suspension of exhibition of film shall come into immediate effect from the date of publication of this notification and No cinema owners or exhibitors shall exhibit any film in any Cinema/Multiplex/Video Cinema/Touring Cinema/Drive-in Cinema within the jurisdiction of the State of Gujarat.
