Gujarat SPCA with the help of Sankheda forest department team rescued a red face monkey from Rampura village of the taluka. The accused is booked under various offences of animal cruelty as this species of monkey comes under Schedule 2 of Wildlife Act.

As per details, Raj Bhavsar of Gujarat SPCA got an information that a red face monkey has been kept very badly tied in Rampura village in Sankheda taluka. Immediately as per the instruction of Raj Bhavsar, a volunteer Ramesh Bhai reached there to verify. After verifying the information, he immediately contacted Sankheda Range Forest office and telling all the facts to officer N.T. Baria.

He immediately formed his team and along with the volunteer raid the spot and released the monkey. He was tied with a chain and found in bad condition. The team interrogated the keeper Milan Tadvi and he revealed to be purchased the monkey for 3000 from a village in Dabhoi. He is booked by the team booked under various offences of animal cruelty as this species of monkey comes under Schedule 2 of Wildlife Act.

Later the monkey was brought to Sankheda Range Forest. NT Baria has started further investigation in the matter.
