While the cases of Covid were on the rise, under the guidance of Vadodara District Collector, government community health centers with oxygen facility were started at taluka level as part of an initiative. This yields good results and it happens at Dabhoi CHC as 87 patients benefitted from the service.

In this government hospital, on April 21, Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajay Singh and his dedicated team started the corona treatment services. He said that as of May 26, 129 patients had been admitted here and out of which 87 patients got full health benefits and it's a matter of great joy to them. 41 patients who needed intensive treatment were sent to the district hospital. They regret as one patient died during treatment. Currently, two patients are receiving moderate oxygen treatment.

Singh said, a total of 442 oxygen cylinders have been used to treat the patients and 85 people needed oxygen treatment. For the first time in history, such a large scale oxygen treatment was arranged in the taluka level health center in collaboration with the state government and the district administration.

"Our enthusiasm was redoubled when the patient with oxygen level dropped to 85 to 60 and the lungs were 50 to 70 percent infected,, get well" said Dr. Singh.

He said that at the request of the District Collector, the administration provided adequate oxygen for the entire system. Shailesh Mehta, an active MLA, was very helpful in arranging arrangements including meals. Ashwin Patel, Chairman of the District Education Committee and the office bearers gave a lot of support. Tripathiji assisted in setting up the oxygen line and the entire work was done under the monitoring of Chief District Health Officer Dr. Surendra Jain.

Even at that time of cyclone Tautae all the necessary precautions were taken in advance. The dedicated team of Dabhoi Community Health Center has made sense of the foresight shown by the district administration in arranging oxygen treatment of Covid in the government hospital at the taluka level under the guidelines of the state government.

Amit Kumar Maganbhai Solanki, who was admitted as a patient on the first day on April 21, recovered after undergoing treatment here for about 9 days.

Amit was vaccinated, got fever and took treatment at home for eight days. However as the difficulty increased, he approached the Medical Superintendent of Dabhoi CHC, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, who told him to come to the hospital immediately. His corona test was positive and oxygen levels dropped around 86 to 87.

He was immediately admitted and started oxygen treatment. Following which the level returned to normal in just three days. However, he was there for six more days and Dr. Ajay Kumar and his dedicated team treated him carefully by giving the necessary medicines, injections and was discharged after ensuring complete recovery.

He said it was a great thing to get such good treatment in Dabhoi. This arrangement has brought a lot of relief to the poor and middle class Corona patients especially in Dabhoi Nagar and Taluka. The health care of the team led by Dr. Ajay Kumar can't be described in words.

"I am an office bearer of the city BJP and we are very happy to be able to provide food service to the patients undergoing treatment under this facility," he said.

He took the first dose of Corona vaccine and his senior Dr. B.J. Brahmbhatt says that with that first dose, his body developed the strength to fight against corona.

He said that Dr. Ajay Kumar and his fellow doctors and staff have been serving the patients of Dabhoi very well and making the system of government meaningful.
