General Motor employees took out rally in Vadodara

General Motors Employees Union (GMEU) members took out rally in Vadodara in protest against releasing them from the company after a Chinese company take over their company plant at Halol.

The employees working for more than 15 years took out the rally from Mandvi to Collector office and shouted slogans against the government and the company. Traffic was also disrupted due to the rally.

Employee of the company said that every year government of Gujarat organise Vibrant and in this the government invited companies to Gujarat keeping aside the interest of the employees. A Chinese company is taking over the GM plant at Halol and the new company administration released the employees who are working there for the last 15 years. With the decision the employees are in dark about their future and they took out the rally on Friday.

Employees further said that spending 15 years in the company their half life is completed and now after the release they are in delima about where to go. The employees also wrote many letters to the management of the new company requesting them not to release them but they turned down their demands and the only way left was agitation. They also said that they will fight till last breath of their life.

The government keep aside the interest of the employees and invite the foreign companies which resulting in unemployment of the existing employees. To aware the public the GM employees took out the big rally in Vadodara and give memorandum to the collector. They also threaten to go aggressive in coming days if their demands were not met.
