Students learn to design furniture as per postures space designing and others

A Trunk Show and an informal interaction “Why so formal” with mentors of Furniture and Metal Workshop was organized by BDesign Program, School of Environmental Design and Architecture at amphitheatre, NUV Campus. The students learn to design the furnitures as per postures, space specific designing and many others.

Dhruvkant Amin, Founder, Tectona Grandis Furnitures, Ahmedabad conducted the Furniture workshop with the 3rd and 4th Year students of BDesign Program. The students were taught posture specific furniture designs, understanding the flexibility of posture and how furniture should respond to the language and vocabulary of space.

Piyush and Manish Maheswari of Rachaita Creative Solutions, Vadodara were the mentors for the Metal Workshop. They gave a general orientation and understanding of metal as a material and taught the applications and usability of metal. The workshop was conducted in their studio at Makarpura and students worked hands-on to create origami pieces and were made to understand the geometry of folding and its application. Various installation pieces were created by students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students at the end of the workshop.

An interactive session with the mentors and Trunk Show is also organized where all the metal and furniture pieces was exhibited and available for sale as well.
