Founder of Parul University and accused in the rape case, Dr. Jayesh Patel died during treatment in Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning. He was lodged in Vadodara Central Jail on a charge of molestation put by a girl student from the same university.
Dr. Jayesh Patel started from a laboratory near Kothi Char Rasta. He then established Parul University near Limda village at Waghodia. He became active in politics along with establishment of educational institutions. As a candidate from Congress he contested against BJP MLA Madhu Srivastava at the Waghodia seat. However he lost the election. He also brought Congress to power in Baroda Dairy.
Dr. Jayesh Patel who made a prominent impression in the field of education and politics later wear the saffron scarf and joined BJP. After joining BJP, a student of Parul University put allegations of rape on Dr. Jayesh Patel and a complaint was registered at Waghodia police station. He was presently lodged inside Vadodara Central Jail.
Dr. Jayesh Patel had to be treated at the hospital from time to time due to kidney ailments and other complications. He was last admitted in Ahmedabad where he breathed his last during treatment on Tuesday. Late Dr. Jayesh Patel’s funeral will be held in Parul University on Wednesday.
Dr. Jayesh Patel started first Homeopathy college in Ahmedabad in 1992 and then at Rajkot in 1996. In 2002 he started Parul Engineering and Homeopathy college at Limda and in 2015 it get the university status. More than 30,000 students from India and abroad study in the university.
