Three people died in Vadodara after a three storey under construction building in Bawamanpura collapsed late last night. The family members held the contractor responsible for the incident and demand compensation.

They also threaten not to accept the bodies till the compensation is paid to the family of our deceased. Their sarpanch has also left to come to Vadodara.

Bachubhai Dindol, who lost two nephews and wife of a nephew in the late night incident said, he also work as a labourer in Vadodara.   Three members of my family have been killed due to the inferior quality materials by the contractor.

 Another nephew Ritu Mansingh Patel (17) is battling life in hospital. The children of his eldest nephew Kamlesh has become orphans as he died in the incident.

He said they will not accept the bodies for last rites till they get compensation from the contractor. The contractor has not yet arrived. Bachubhai Dindol said be went to the place and saw the material which is low grade.

There was not enough materials used in the base and pillars which lead to the accident. They demand compensation for the families of deceased. The village sarpanch will be reaching here and rest will be decided after his arrival.

Vadodara police is investigating in the case where three people lost their lives after a three storey under construction building collapsed late last night in Bawamanpura area. One seriously injured is battling for life and police are waiting for the doctor nod to take his statement. ACP S.G. Patil said strict action will be taken against those responsible for the late night incident.

The ACP along with his staff reached the spot and began investigating in the incident. He informed that three people lost their lives in the building collapse and one injured is admitted in the hospital. The FSL team also took samples from the area to investigate the materials used in the structure and they are waiting for the statement from the injured.

He further said that they are waiting for the doctor permission to take statement of the injured and after that they will investigate further.

The house belongs to Mohammad Noormahammad Sheikh and give contract to Mahir Mohammad Kabutarwala who is untraceable and police is searching for him. They are also investigate about the permission given by the corporation for the construction and also the quality of the materials used by the contractor. The ACP said guilty will not be spared as they began investigating in the matter.

Locals gathered at the spot said, a big thud like sound make them woke up in the midnight and they rushed outside to see the collapsed building. They immediately informed the fire bridge and helped them in rescue work. They added the contractor used sub standard materials and demand strict action against him to avoid such incidents in future.
