He also ensured about the calipers made properly or not and is there any problem in wearing it.

On the occasion of World Disability Day, a program of distribution of equipment assistance to the disabled was organized at SSG Hospital on Friday. 25 Divyang beneficiaries were provided with necessary help in the camp organized by the Divyang Rehabilitation Center under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government.

In Friday's program, the case of a paralyzed man named Premkumar Dilliwala is interesting. He got gangrene in his legs for some reason. Generally, a person with abnormal diabetes is more likely to have gangrene. However, Premkumar did not have diabetes and still had to amputate his right leg below the knee due to gangrene. He work at Navjivan Paints.

Considering his permanent disability and financial need, the company's managers asked him to continue the job and the company showed readiness to provide desk work that suits him. On Friday Collector R.B. Barad himself wore him the calipers.

In another case, 62-year-old Mahendra Babubhai Solanki was changing the tyre of a vehicle during his driving job a year ago and suffered a concussion. He was examined at SSG and later had his arm amputated. Now, he has been fitted with an artificial arm and hopes to get a job as a security guard.

The Collector appealed divyangs to use their franchise to join in the forthcoming general election. He also informed about the facilities provided by the Election Commission to the disabled to go for polls.

Technical precision is necessary in providing these equipments by Divyang Rehabilitation Center. These instruments are made by measuring and assessing in order to make suitable fit in disability cases coming from the reference of civil hospital and later given to patients. About eight thousand equipments are provided by this center every year.
