Apart from imparting education and training to the deaf divyang children, Mook Dhwani Trust organises employment fairs every year to make them self-reliant with their qualifications and skills. The fair organized on Sunday witness 25 candidates selected by employing companies and 28 candidates have been selected by various units for self-employment oriented training which will make them able to stand on their own feet.
Giving details, Rashmi Mehta, Principal of G.D. Patel Deaf School, said that on Sunday under the banner of "Lively Hood", employment fair for deaf students organised at the school premises through the joint efforts of Mook Dhwani Trust, Astitva Foundation, Discover Ability, Youth for Job.
In which more than 50 deaf persons were registered.
Under this employment oriented scheme a total of 25 deaf persons have been selected for jobs consists of 21 in Parimal Glass, 1 in Polyfoam Engineering, 1 in Inorbit Mall, 2 in Revival Hotel.
Apart from this, 5 persons in Akash Dhup, 2 in Patel Pizza, 4 persons in Choco-Holicus and 15 persons Modi Care showed their readiness for various self-employment opportunities and training.
The fair could not be held for two years due to the Corona crisis, but now this tradition has been revived, added Rashmi. She thanked the employer units and allied organizations for their readiness for deaf welfare.
