The trailer of the movie promised to show the patriotic and extraordinary journey of Tejas Gill, an Air Force Pilot, and how she carries every mission and courageously confronts the enemies. Starring Kangana Ranaut, the movie hit theatres on 27th October.
The movie is inspired by the Indian Air Force’s historic decision to allow women into combat positions in 2016.
The movie’s main character Tejas Gill (played by Kangana Ranaut), with a strong willpower to serve the nation, persuades her senior officials to send her on a mission to rescue a prisoner, along with her co-pilot Afia (Anshul Chauhan).
Kangana Ranaut’s highly anticipated aerial action flick garnered a so-so response at the box office on its first day.
According to early estimates published by Sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on its first day of release, the lowest opening day earnings of any film in 2023.
The film achieved a 6.83 percent occupancy in Mumbai and a 22 percent occupancy in Chennai. Looking on the positive side, the movie did better than Kangana’s previous film ‘Dhaakad’, which only earned Rs 50 Lakh on its first day.
The low response can also be attributed to Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Leo’ currently ruling the box office with great response.
Talking about the audience reactions, the film received mixed reviews as some were totally impressed with Kangana’s brilliant acting skills and her aura radiated every ounce of an IAF Officer who is ready to hit harder on the enemies who try to touch her motherland and its citizens.
However, the film failed to make a lasting impression on viewers and was termed a total flop.
