New Update

With $1.69 billion in international box office, Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' has become the sixth-highest grossing film in history.

Variety.com reports that it beat out 'Jurassic World' ($1.67 billion) and 'The Lion King' ($1.66 billion) for the top place.

Despite worries regarding Covid-19, particularly the more transmissible Omicron version, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' has remained a worldwide box office success.

Because the film has become so popular, 'Saturday Night Live' mocked it in a spoof in which US President Biden (played by James Austin Johnson) literally begs people to stop watching it in order to stop the virus from spreading.

The next box office challenge for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' could be more difficult to overcome.

That's because the first five films on the all-time box office list, 'Avatar,' 'Avengers: Endgame,' 'Titanic,' 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' and 'Avengers: Infinity War,' have all grossed more than $2 billion.

It's possible that 'No Way Home' won't be able to meet that goal without China.

The superhero epic, which stars Holland as Marvel's friendly neighbourhood web-slinger, debuted in December 2021 and has grossed $721 million domestically and $970.1 million overseas.

Outside of the United States, where 'No Way Home' is the fourth-highest grossing film of all time, Spidey's latest adventure has performed particularly well in the United Kingdom, where it has grossed $116 million to far.

Mexico, with $73.4 million, South Korea, with $60.6 million, and France, with $59.9 million, are the other top-earning countries.

'Scream,' a slasher sequel from Paramount, also managed to scare up crowds, grossing $10.2 million in 54 international markets. The film has so far grossed $33.6 million internationally and $51 million in North America, which is a good performance considering its $25 million budget.
