The rebooted version, titled ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: Tulsi Ka Safar’, will stream exclusively on JioHotstar.

The makers recently revealed the first look of Irani in her legendary role, bringing a wave of nostalgia for longtime fans. Dressed in a maroon saree with golden butis and a rich zari border, Tulsi’s signature style is unmistakably back — complete with a bold red bindi, traditional gold jewelry, black-beaded mangalsutra, and stacked bangles.

A Nostalgic Journey Reimagined

Speaking about the reboot, producer Ektaa Kapoor shared her excitement:

“When we created Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi over two decades ago, we never imagined it would become such a defining part of India’s television legacy. With Tulsi Ka Safar, our intent is to revisit and celebrate that legacy by curating the most powerful moments from the original series into a format that today’s audiences can experience with fresh eyes.”

Kapoor emphasized that the show is not a traditional reboot but a curated emotional journey meant to rekindle memories for older viewers while introducing the iconic story to a new generation.

Mihir Virani Also Returns

Joining Smriti Irani is actor Amar Upadhyay, who reprises his role as Mihir Virani. Sharing his thoughts on returning to the iconic show, he said:

“Stepping back into Kyunki’s world has been like flipping through a beloved old photo album. This new format on JioHotstar lets viewers re-experience Mihir’s story with fresh perspective and emotion.”

Legacy of a Landmark Show

The original Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired from 2000 to 2008, becoming one of the most beloved and influential daily soaps in Indian television history. It redefined the Indian family drama genre and made Tulsi and Mihir household names across the country.

Now, with Tulsi Ka Safar, the magic returns — blending nostalgia with a contemporary storytelling approach.
