Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a UA 13+ certificate on March 21.
As per the censor certificate, the run time was 150.08 minutes, that is, 2 hours 30 minutes and 8 seconds.
But according to sources, the final length of the film is 2 hours 15 minutes and 46 seconds.
Sources also said that the makers of Sikandar approached the CBFC after obtaining the certificate. This is because they shortened the duration of several scenes throughout the film.
As per the rules, the CBFC needs to be informed if any addition or deletion takes place in a film after the issuing of certificate. Hence, the CBFC was approached and they approved the film with the additional voluntary cuts.
In all, 14 minute and 28 seconds of the film was axed by the makers. As for additions, 7 seconds of Sanjay's reaction shots were included.
After these changes, the final run time of Sikandar is now 135.47 minutes, that is, 2 hours 15 minutes and 47 seconds.
The CBFC approved these changes on Monday, March 24. The film is all set to release in cinemas on March 30.
