A die-hard fan of actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has built a temple dedicated to the actress, on his house premises in a village in Andhra Pradesh.

Tenali Sandeep, a self-proclaimed fan of the actress, unveiled Samantha's statue and cut a cake on Friday as she celebrated her 36th birthday, sources reported.

Sandeep has said that he was inspired by the Shaakunthalam actress's charitable works and, distributed food among the poor to mark the actress's birthday.

According to sources, Sandeep also embarked on a pilgrimage trip to Tirumala temple, Ameen Peer Dargah and Velankanni Church to pray for Samantha's health.

In October last year, the actress revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis, and has been undergoing treatment amid her work schedule. 

Myositis is the name for a group of rare conditions that can cause muscles to become weak, tired and painful. It is usually caused by a problem with the immune system, where it mistakenly attacks healthy tissue.

Samantha, whose credits include Telugu and Tamil films such as Eega, Mahanati, Yashodha and Super Deluxe, made her Hindi debut with Prime Video series The Family Man 2.
