Netizens reacted positively to the initiative, with many expressing the hope that it might inspire others to donate their hair as well.

Rishika's donation was made as part of a Hair and Beauty Association event in Mysuru in honour of late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar. The programme, which Rishika had established, drew a total of 70 donors.

The actress expressed her delight in donating her hair to cancer victims. "Like 'vidyadaan' (educational gift) and 'kanyadaan' (offering one's daughter to one's son-in-law),'keshdaan' (hair donation) is equally essential," she stated in her statement.

The actress added: "I have seen many of my friends and relatives being affected by cancer. The patients lose their hair after undergoing chemotherapy. That is very painful to watch. God has blessed us with good health and good hair, so I am donating."

As many as 70 donors have come forward to give their hair to cancer patients since actress Rishika Raj launched the programme and donated her hair.
