The news of singer KK's death has left the nation shocked. Social media is flooded with tributes for the singer who was the voice of a generation.

Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died at the age of 53 on Tuesday night.

The singer is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest shortly after performing a live lig at Kolkata's Nazrul Mancha auditorium.

Even as tributes pour in, social media users and eye witnesses are blaming the organisers of the event as videos of the tightly packed auditorium surfaced.

According to reports, the venue was overcrowded and KK had complained about the stuffy conditions even while he was performing on stage.

In the video, KK can be seen sweating profusely, and mentioning about the 'heat'. He can also be seen gesturing to a man on stage and appeared to be talking about ventilation or air conditioning.

While the Nazrul Mancha has a capacity of about 2,400, many claimed that about 7,000 people had entered the venue where KK was performing for a college fest, sources reported.

KK had announced the Kolkata gig last week, in a video posted on Instagram.

On Tuesday, he also shared Instagram stories from the performance where he enthralled the audience with some of his hits like 'Aankhon Mein Teri', 'Khuda Jaane' and more. In his last post on Instagram, he shared a pic of him performing on the stage on Kolkata.
