The mystical world of Kantara is returning to the big screen, and this time it’s bigger, bolder, and even more gripping.
Hombale Films has officially unveiled the first look of acclaimed Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara in Kantara Chapter 1, directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1serves as a prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, which earned widespread acclaim for its rooted storytelling, blend of folklore and spirituality, and evocative music.
The prequel is expected to explore the origins of the mythos, diving deeper into themes of faith, power, and destiny while retaining the raw emotion that made the original a cultural phenomenon.
The film also reunites the powerhouse team behind the first instalment: cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap, whose stunning frames elevated the rustic yet mystical tone of Kantara, and composer B.
Ajaneesh Loknath, whose unforgettable music became an anthem for audiences worldwide. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, the prequel promises a grander scale and unparalleled cinematic experience.
With a multilingual worldwide release planned in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English, the film is positioned as one of the biggest Pan-India spectacles of the year.
As anticipation builds, one thing is clear — Kantara Chapter 1 is not just a film, but an experience waiting to engulf audiences in its world of devotion, conflict, and legend.
