It is being reported that a song by popular Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh will be added to Rishab Shetty’s upcoming film 'Kantara Chapter 1'. This step is reportedly being taken to increase the film’s appeal among North Indian audiences.
Diljit Dosanjh is said to be recording a new song for the film in the coming days.
However, this decision has not gone down well with fans of the Kantara franchise. The original Kantara was made specifically for the Kannada-speaking audience, but it gained widespread popularity after being dubbed in Hindi.
According to fans, the original film already holds strong brand value, and there is no need to introduce such changes just to attract a northern audience.
On the other hand, it is being claimed that the digital rights of Kantara Chapter 1 have been sold for a massive ₹125 crore.
It is worth noting that Kantara Chapter 1 is a prequel to the original Kantara film and will explore the events that occurred before the timeline of the original story. Along with Rishab Shetty, the film will also feature Saptami Gowda and newcomer Rukmini Vasanth.
