Bobby Deol to be a YRF Spyverse villain
Deol would play the antagonist in the film starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh
After the roaring success of his last film Animal, Bobby Deol is set to join the YRF Spy Universe as a villain.
His character in Animal, Abrar gained much following and the song, which played during the character's entry, 'Jamal Kudu' became a hit and has been used in several reels since.
Deol would play the antagonist in the film starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh. Wagh will soon be seen in Vedaa, which also stars John Abraham.
It was earlier reported that Bhatt would play a female agent in the new film in the YRF Spyverse.
It already has stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan playing R&AW agents Tiger, Pathaan and Kabir respectively.
The Spyverse has had female spies-- Deepika Padukone as Rubayi and Katrina Kaif as Zoya, but this will be the first film, that will feature two women in the lead.
War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani and NTR Jr, will start filming soon. The movie, which features NTR Jr as a villain, is set for an August 2025 release.
Reportedly, the untitled film starring Bhatt and Deol will go on the floors in the second half of 2024.
The film will be directed by Shiv Rawail. Former YRF antagonists have included John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi.
Deol will next be seen in Kanguva, in which Suriya plays the titular role. The film marks the South debut of Bobby Deol.
