The Election Commission of India has appointed Jata Shankar Choudhary, Senior IAS Officer as Election Observer and Abhay Kumar, Senior IRS Officer as Expenditure Observer to oversee the by-elections of 147 Karjan Assembly seat.

Both of these top officials are currently stayed here to oversee the election process and guide the electoral system in ensuring free, transparent, neutral, fearless and fair elections.

Accompanied by District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal, the two senior officials visited the Media Monitoring Center and Control Room at the Information Building as well as the MCMC to know the details of the operation.

Shalini Agarwal explained the whole process about monitoring of election related news and gave details of the work being done by different staff in three shifts as per the instructions of the Election Commission.

She said that in Gujarat only in Vadodara, the control room has been kept operational to get instant information about elections but disasters like Corona and floods.

Expenditure Observer Abhay Kumar described the arrangement and performance as satisfactory. Liaison Officer D.P. Gurjar provided supplementary information along Assistant Director of Information S.J. Mishra who in particular informed about the observation of the rural area edition of the newspapers.

Resident Additional Collector Dilip Patel was also remain present during the visit.
