VC Najma Akhtar: Jamia Millia Islamia to start medical college, international campus soon

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) today announced that the Union Government has granted permission to start a medical college in JMI. 

The news was announced by the Vice Chancellor JMI Prof. Najma Akhtar.

Akhtar also announced that JMI is aiming to open an international campus in Middle East soon.

The VC also talked about how JMI has secured a rank in the top 3 institutes in the NIRF Rankings for the second consecutive year.

The institute is hosting its Centenary Year Convocation today at Vigyan Bhawan. 

In the ceremony, around 12500 students will be awarded degrees and diplomas, including the ones who graduated in the 2019 and 20202. The ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhawan.

Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony. 

Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan too presided over the convocation.
