UP Board Secretary Divya Kant Shukla has sent a letter to the District Inspector Of Schools (DIOS) for not making 253 schools the examination centres for the upcoming board exams in 2024.

As per the letter, a maximum of 36 schools in Prayagraj were instructed to be flagged ineligible from the possible options of examination centres.

Along with this, 29 schools of Aligarh, 22 of Ghazipur, 16 of Varanasi, 14 of Lucknow and 11 each of Agra and Gorakhpur have not been enlisted as the examination centres for the upcoming exams.

Apart from this, 10 schools each in Kushinagar, Ballia and Bahraich have not been qualified for the examination centre. Now, as per the revised schedule of the UP Board, the final list of the exam centres will be released by the education board on December 10.

The list will be released on the official board of UP Board – https://upmsp.edu.in/.

At present, UP Board has proposed 7864 examination centres for the board exams of 2024. Last year, it was 8753 examination centres.

The reduction in the exam venues is due to the strict rules and regulations of the state board of education. Last year, 432 schools were kept away from the examination centre.

Out of these, 169 examination venues were debarred due to the irregularities noticed by the UP board. Other schools which couldn’t make it to the list included the de-recognised schools and the education institutions which were deemed unqualified based on the STF report.

The registration for UP Board was available till October 10. This year, a total of 3.76 fewer students have registered for the Class 10 and 12 exams of UP Boards.

A total of 55,08,206 students have completed the registration process for the exams which are scheduled to take place in January-February next year. A total of 29,47,324 candidates completed their registration for high school. It included 15,71,686 boys and 13,75,638 girls students.

Whereas in Intermediate, a total of 25 lakh students have registered which includes 14,12,806 boys and 11,48,076 girls students.
