The Kashmir divisional administration has announced the suspension of classes for primary-level students in both government and private schools on July 29 and 30 amid a persistent headtwave.

The official order, issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir V K Bidhuri, states that while students will not attend, teaching staff are still required to report to their duties.

On the other hand, residents of the South Kashmiri region of Anantnag seek relief from the intense summer heat in the refreshing waters of their local ponds and canals as the country experiences periodic heat waves.

As the temperature rises, families and friends gather at these natural retreats to escape the scorching sun. Children splash and play, while adults wade in the refreshing waters, enjoying a respite from the intense heat.
