IIM Bangalore Launches Certificate Programme on 'Personal Finance & Wealth Advisory' with FPSB India

IIM Bangalore launches the Certificate Programme on Personal Finance & Wealth Advisory (PFWA) with FPSB India, the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd.Developed by the Centre for Capital Markets and Risk Management (CCMRM) in collaboration with FPSB India, this first-of-its-kind Executive Education offering marks a significant step toward strengthening high-quality personal financial planning and wealth advisory education in India.

The PFWA programme blends academic rigour with real-world relevance. This programme is designed to equip professionals with the knowledge, tools, and entrepreneurial mindset required to excel in the rapidly evolving field of financial planning.

The program launch event saw participation from senior programme directors at IIMB, members of the Council of Financial Planners (COFP), and delegates from FPSB India. FPSB India also formally accredited the PFWA programme at the event, reinforcing the organization commitment to advancing innovation and scale in financial planning education.

In her welcome address, Dr. Aishwarya Krishna (Research Consultant, CCMRM) emphasised the programme’s strong academic foundation and its alignment with emerging industry needs and that it integrates microeconomics, business acumen, Bloomberg datasets, and contemporary financial advisory frameworks relevantto today’s dynamic financial landscape.Participants who successfully complete the program will be granted IIMB EEP Alumni Status.

On successful completion of the Certificate programme in Personal Finance and Wealth advisory, participants potentially be eligible for Fast Track Pathway of the CFP® Certification administered by FPSB India.

This collaboration is part of FPSB India’s broader strategy to partner with leading academic institutions to strengthen the financial planning ecosystem for the larger public good.
