This directive, which takes effect on November 9, requires schools to remain closed and prohibits the calling of students for any school-related activity on these days.

In an official notice, the Directorate emphasized that strict compliance with this order is expected across all schools.

The notice comes in response to reports that some schools have been requiring students to attend non-academic activities on previously designated holidays, including gazetted and local holidays.

This new rule reinforces the prohibition against such practices, clarifying that second Saturdays are to be fully observed as holidays.
