Addressing the inaugural session on the second day of National School Education Ministers' Conference, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that school education is the foundation of a knowledge-based society while adding that the National education policy (NEP) is a knowledge document which has the aim to promote all-round development and making education accessible to everyone.
He also informed that the government is in the process of setting up PM Shri schools.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan went on to remark that NEP's approach of 5+3+3+4 covers pre-school to secondary, focuses on ECCE, teacher training, and adult education, integration of skill development with school education while prioritising learning in the mother tongue that are steps to prepare 21st-century global citizens.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan went on to inform that the government is in the process of setting up PM Shri schools that are going to be fully equipped to prepare students for the future.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan added that these state-of-the-art schools will become the laboratory of NEP 2020 while asking for feedback from all states, UTs, and the entire education ecosystem for creating a futuristic benchmark model in the form of PM Shri schools.
