CBSE launches Reading App; students to get access to large digital library

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched ‘Reading App’ to promote the joy of reading among students and others.

With the help of this App, students, teachers and schools will have access to a large digital library, consisting of reading material from Nursery Grades to Grade VIII.

The reading materials have been sourced from a diverse set of publishers in text, audio and video formats. It is pertinent to mention here that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had earlier launched the Reading Mission in 2021.

This was as in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020 which emphasises on the importance of well stocked libraries, and recommends making available quality children's literature to build a culture of reading across the country.

Under the CBSE’s Reading Mission, the students and teachers were provided an access to a large repository of openly licensed high-quality English and Hindi children’s storybooks and supplementary resources for Classes 1 to 8.
