Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized the importance of prioritizing quality over quantity in the education sector, advocating for reform where children of politicians and government officials would attend government schools in the future.

Speaking at the Chintan Shivir cum Education Conclave 2024’s concluding day, Khandu outlined a strict reformation process for all government schools, mandating it across the state.

Khandu set a timeline for the reformation process, instructing elected representatives, deputy commissioners, and deputy directors of school education to review government-run schools within their jurisdictions and devise a roadmap for reformation by September 15, 2024.

He added that these roadmaps should be submitted to the Education Department by all district administrations by October 20.

He urged all MLAs, Panchayat leaders, DCs and DDSEs to adhere meticulously to the timeline.
