An Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy-based curriculum will be launched on 8 May for students of Classes 6 to 10 in Delhi.
The curriculum framework, AI Samarth, will be launched by the Central Square Foundation (CSF). It has been developed in partnership with the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI at IIT-Madras.
It has been designed for creating an environment which enables safe and ethical use, as well as knowledge and awareness of AI, focused on children between age groups of 11-14 years.
The initiative is geared towards developing a comprehensive AI literacy curriculum framework for both students and teachers, and building an open-source content stack which can be accessed by them in four languages — Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Odia language and English.
The framework will also facilitate the dissemination of the content stack via online channels and training modules for knowledge regarding AI and its practical application.
According to a press release by CSF, the framework has been structured for understanding AI and its role in daily life, to introduce its core concepts, and its practical applications to equip users with AI tools.
It also includes the societal impact of AI, highlighting its potential benefits and the ethics, bias, privacy, and accountability to keep in mind during its use.
