District collector preliminary consultation meeting on pre-monsoon preparedness

Give instructions to various departments to complete necessary preparations before the monsoons

As the monsoon is near, District Collector Shalini Agarwal held a preliminary consultation meeting with various departments including Vadodara Municipal Corporation, District Panchayat, Roads and Buildings Department, ST, Irrigation about the pre monsoon readiness. She Instructed to plan and complete necessary pre preparations before the arrival of monsoon in the city and district.

She directed to give priority to necessary works like cleaning of canals and drains, removal of blocks and obstructions like bushes and others to roads and waterways, strengthening of ponds and ridges. She also discussed issues like filling of potholes and making necessary repairs, repairing of power lines by power companies and give detailed guidance on pre monsoon preparation.

She instructed to clean and repair drainage lines, sewers, drains, canals, water bodies and river banks and repair structures especially for rain water disposal. She also asked the Irrigation Department to monitor the proper cleaning of storm water drains and maintain a proper strict monitoring.

District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri, Deputy Municipal Commissioner as well as officers of concerned departments including police were present during the meeting.
