Delhi Rape-Murder Case: Accused Dragged Victim, Tried Unlocking Locker With Blood-Stained Finger
A horrifying crime in South Delhi’s Amar Colony has sent shockwaves across the country, revealing gruesome details that underline both brutality and cold-blooded intent. The accused, a former house help identified as Rahul Meena, has confessed to raping and murdering the 22-year-old daughter of an IRS officer before attempting to exploit her biometric fingerprint to carry out theft inside the house.
According to police sources, after assaulting the victim on the rooftop room, the accused dragged her unconscious body down to the lower floor. In a chilling act that has stunned investigators, he then tried to open a biometric locker using the victim’s blood-stained finger. However, when the system failed to recognize the fingerprint, he resorted to forcibly breaking open the locker with a screwdriver.
Once inside, the accused looted cash and jewellery, reportedly taking around ₹2 lakh along with valuables, before fleeing the scene. Officials believe that his prior familiarity with the household helped him execute the crime, as he was aware of where valuables were kept and how the house was structured.
Further investigation has revealed that Meena had a troubling past, with alleged involvement in a previous rape case in Rajasthan. He had also been dismissed from his job around one and a half months earlier after being accused of financial misconduct, including inflating household purchase bills.
The victim, an engineering graduate preparing for UPSC examinations, was alone at home when the crime took place. Her parents had stepped out for the gym, only to return to a devastating scene. Reports indicate that the accused strangled her using a mobile phone charger cable, turning what began as an assault into a cold-blooded murder.
This case has sparked outrage and renewed concerns about safety, background verification of domestic workers, and the growing pattern of crimes involving known individuals. Authorities continue to probe deeper into the accused’s past while ensuring swift legal action in this deeply disturbing case.
