Carrying on from the overnight score of 385/8, Senuran Muthusamy (12) and Keshav Maharaj (3) started the day. But after adding 11 runs, the partnership was broken by Ravi Ashwin who packed off Maharaj on 9.

This was Ashwin’s 6th wicket of the match after he completed his career’s 27th fifer on Friday.

Muthusamy was then joined by Kagiso Rabada and the pair added 35 runs before Ashwin struck once again, sending back Rabada on 15.

South Africa were chasing India’s first innings score of 502/7d with Dean Elgar (160) and Quinton de Kock (111) bringing them back into the match on Day 3.

After an hour of batting on Day 4, they have now been bowled out, trailing the hosts by 71 runs.
